Autumn and Winter Weddings at BOSC
With the cooler weather and aesthetically pleasing colour palette, it’s no secret why autumn and winter weddings are popular. Though you won’t have to worry about your guests being too hot or having enough ice to chill the prosecco, having a wedding during the cooler months has its own complications. Here are our top tips for hosting an autumn or winter wedding.
Check the Décor
One of the unexpected benefits of having an autumn or winter wedding is that venues will leave up their seasonal decorations. This can save a bundle when it comes to wedding costs. At BOSC, we give our happy couple the option to keep up our own decorations, or personalise their own wedding space, but be sure to check with your venue about their policy.
Host the Ceremony and Reception in One Place
Whilst autumn and winter weather is atmospheric, it can lead to unexpected delays. We recommend having your ceremony and reception in one place, to minimise confusion and make sure you can move seamlessly from day to night. Autumn and winter couples could consider having their wedding on our beautiful outdoor terrace, before going inside to our elegant function room. Alternatively, both the ceremony and the reception can be held in the function room. Guests can go down to the clubroom and out on the terrace to enjoy a glass of prosecco before returning to the event space for the wedding breakfast.
Keep Your Venue Lit all Evening
The days are shorter in winter, with the sun setting later in the afternoon. This needs to be a consideration for any couple getting married at this time of the year. Be sure to discuss lighting, and the way your venue will move from light to dark, with a wedding coordinator. At BOSC, we have a selection of lighting options for our couples. Let us know what your requirements are and our experienced wedding team would be delighted to help.
